In addition to providing life-long care for the animals, Peaceful Prairie strives to promote a vegan lifestyle. Most of the residents of Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary were victims of the meat, dairy and egg industry. They all receive varying degrees of medical attention, social interaction, and physical, as well as emotional, tender loving care.

Skyline Sanctuary originates from Wilderness Ranch, in operation from 1993 to 2005. Wilderness Ranch provided rescue, shelter and care to hundreds of animals and offered valuable learning experiences to thousands of visitors. In order to further its vision, Skyline Sanctuary and Education Center was created.
